Kick-start your career in healthcare with a Certificate III and IV in Allied Health Assistance
As the allied health sector continues to grow across the nation, so does the demand for allied health assistants. Allied health covers a diverse range of fields from physiotherapy and occupational therapy to nutrition and dietetics. As a qualified allied health assistant, you will have the skills and opportunity to aid other medical professionals in these vital and rewarding areas.
The Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance qualification reflects the role of allied health assistants who aid allied health professionals under predetermined guidelines. Depending on the setting, work may include following treatment plans for therapeutic interventions and/or conducting programs under the regular direct, indirect or remote supervision of an allied health professional.
The Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance provides a more in-depth and higher level of education relating to the role of workers who provide therapeutic and program related support to allied health professionals. In this profession, you are required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an allied health professional. Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote and must occur within organisation requirements. You will be required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the allied health professional and also may be engaged to work in a specialty area or work generically across the organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services. In conjunction with the allied health professional, you may have responsibility for supervising other allied health assistance workers.
By undertaking the Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance first and following it up with completing a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, you can streamline your learning experience – begin with an initial entry-level understanding and transition into studying your specialised area of interest without needing to undergo additional practical work.
